ancient grecian columns

'A Day in PomPeii' exhibit, Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa

When the travelling exhibit 'A Day in Pompeii', arrived in Wellington, the curators needed some extra components to dress the entrance way.

Izzat came to the party, and working from design drawings provided by the designers at 'The Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa' worked up these beautiful marble columns from timber and paint.

The exhibit, detailing what life was like before and after the cataclysmic eruption of Vesuvius in the ancient city of Pompeii, was a run away success with crowds often having to line up to get in.
