All the members of Izzat have come from creative artistic backgrounds.
After completing a large project for Te Papa in 2006, the company decided to have an exhibition. The venue of choice would be the South Coast Gallery in Island Bay.
We all agreed that a cohesive theme would be a good idea, and lighting suggested as the subject matter with very little debate. We chose lighting for its artistic functionality, and the range of materials and media we could use in its design.
The result, a range of extremely diverse, original lights made from cast bronze, laminated wood, glass, fibreglass, acrylics, found objects and natural materials.
The exhibition is a good reflection of the individuals who make up Izzat. It is also a testament of combined knowledge, skills, and experience, which we can offer to clients.
The developmental process of the exhibition is a good example of the company’s focus towards the future. The continual exploration of product design and manufacture are part of Izzats vision and progress. Confidence in direction and a growing client base has made strong foundations in the company.
The lighting exhibition has been one of the many collaborative seeds sown in Izzat with a potential harvest down the track.
