An amazing versatile space built around a shipping container for the ultimate in portability.
Recently Simon Hames came to the table with an idea, an idea to turn a 10x10 foot shipping container into a space that can be used for any number of purposes, from a gallery for exhibiting artworks through to a retail store for multi day events.
During the design phase, careful consideration was made to the esthetic appeal of the space both inside and out, and Simon choose to clad the outside with a giant scale woven basket effect he has been working on for some time. The look and feel this form takes is smooth and pleasing to the eye, a familiar shape at an unfamiliar scale, hinting at the wonders within.
One of the many beauties of Simon's design is the speed that it can be erected. From the time the bare container touches the ground in your desired location it can be up and doing business in as little as one hour, as we proved with the cubee shown in the photos on its maiden voyage.
